How to Be a Therapist a business-of-private-practice + process group for early-career clinicians
How do you become a therapist when you're still becoming you?
This is a group for prelicensed and newly licensed clinicians who are figuring out both sides of that question at once: the practical side (how private practice actually works — caseload, fees, marketing, boundaries, saying no) and the personal side (who you are in the room, what you bring into it, and how to grow into your clinical self without losing yourself along the way).
Co-facilitated by Rachel Daggett, LMFT and Celynna Harnetiaux, LMFT, at The Bloom Room in San Clemente.
Half the group is business. Half is process. Both matter.
On the business side, we'll talk about things like building a caseload, setting fees and boundaries, marketing yourself without feeling gross about it, working toward licensure, and what private practice actually looks like day to day — the stuff no graduate program really teaches you.
On the process side, we'll talk about what it's like to sit with clients while you're still figuring yourself out. Imposter feelings. Burnout. The parts of you that show up in session. What it means to grow as a person and a clinician at the same time, and why that's not something to rush through or hide.
This group is for clinicians who want honest conversation about both — not just advice, and not just support, but both together.
Details
Tuesdays or Thursdays, 8:30–10am or 9–10:30am (share your preference on the interest form) — every other week, at The Bloom Room in San Clemente. Come a few minutes early for coffee or tea.
Small group of 6-8 prelicensed and newly licensed clinicians. $130 per session. Ongoing commitment requested once the group begins.
Completing the interest form doesn't commit you to joining or guarantee you a spot — it helps us learn more about your background, where you're at, and what you're looking for. If it feels aligned, we'll follow up with next steps.
